Movie Buffs Associated - Bruce Willis Logic Puzzle

Every week since its inauguration, the local Movie Buffs Associated have shown a series of movies chosen by a selection panel, determined annually by a ballot of members, in the Municipal Offices function room each evening from Monday to Friday, and starring a particular actor/actress. The selection panel for the current year is Sally Boyden, Mark Thomson, Jessica Farmer, Laurie Davison and Mary Peters.

Last week their choice was Bruce Willis, and the films chosen - one per member - were Looper (2012), The Sixth Sense (1999), Surrogates (2009), Tears of the Sun (2003), and The Whole Nine Yards (2000) but not respectively, and neither were they shown in that order, nor in the order in which they were released. Showing time differed each evening. From this information and the following clues, for each member, can you determine who chose which film, the day on which it was shown, and at what time?

  • 1. The only release not in the 20-hundreds was Miss Farmer's choice.
  • 2. The week opened with Sally's choice, Tears of the Sun.
  • 3. There was a one hour time difference between the showings of Jessica's choice and that at 8:15 pm.
  • 4. Of the choices of Mary and Mr. Davison, one was shown on the second day, the other on the fourth day.
  • 5. Looper, which showed at 7:25 pm, was not the choice of any of the women.
  • 6. The Whole Nine Yards was shown two days earlier than the 2009 release, which was chosen by one of the women.
  • 7. Of the two showings before 8:00 pm, Miss Farmer's choice closed the week.
  • 8. The first showing of the three after 7:25 pm featured Laurie's choice.
  • 9. Miss Boyden's choice had an earlier start than Mary's.
